Mastodon, Gojira, and Kvelertak made it once more round the Philly area at the tail end of 2014 for a fresh round of metal assaults following the trifecta’s area May performance. Once again our Senior Staff Photographer, Dante Torrieri was on hand to capture and deliver another stunning set of photos for your viewing pleasure below the fold.
Norway’s Kvelertak continue to support a new full-length on Indie Recordings entitled Meir, which has made waves across the metal landscape. Armed with three guitarists on top of the standard bass, drum, vocal foundation- Kvelertak offer a rowdy but proficient live output. The band has been recently confirmed for the Karmøygeddon 2015 festival alongside Arch Enemy and scores more during the April 30the through May 2nd festival run.
France’s Gojira offer one of the most technically proficient live showings across the genre, as the band continues to support live album and video, Les Enfants Sauvages, released in 2014 on Roadrunner. MetalInjection commenting, “I’ve seen this band more times than I can count in the past decade, and plan to do so many more, but Les Enfants Sauvages is a great way to get your fix between shows. It also makes a great collector’s item with accompanying live CD, and booklet filled with quality photos of the band around the world.”
The mighty Mastodon continue to support their highly successful full-length, Once More ‘Round The Sun, that hit streets in 2014 via Reprise Records. SputnikMusic commenting, “A blueprint of how to go commercial without sacrificing one’s artistic identity.”
